Hoot-N-Howl:
This sub-group was originally named as an acronym for "Husband's Out Of Town aNd Husbands Out Working Late). Our chapter has taken it a step further and is targeting any mom who cannot make regular daytime playgroups with their children for whatever reason. Maybe the kids are in schoolmaybe MOM works outside the home during the daymaybe dad works a later shift and daytime is "family time"... maybe dad is on a business trip. On the other hand, maybe you just need to get out of the house! This club meets the needs of many members by scheduling after school and evening activities such as playgroups, crafts, dinner potlucks, and much more! All members are invited to attend.

CARE Committee: Chapter 259 cares about its members!
We organize meals for new babies, adoptions, surgeries, illnesses, deaths and any member who needs the help. We will send words of encouragement from our chapter to let them know we are there for them. Birthday and anniversary e-cards are emailed to every member and their children! If we can help with childcare, cleaning, or other aspects of motherhood duties during a rough time, we will do our best to accommodate just about any need of a member. This is a wonderful perk to having a team of moms who care behind you every step of the way through motherhood!
The care team also presents the M.O.M. (Member Of the Month) Award each month to a chapter member who is a great volunteer for Mothers & More and contributes to making this organization better for all moms involved. On the other hand, maybe a member does something that makes them a special mom and they just need recognized! A certificate and a small token of our appreciation are presented at the monthly meeting. The award winner is announced on the business loop as well as posted on the website each month. |
